15,000 tourists visit Namaste Waterfall, Dhankuta on New Year

KATHMANDU, Apr 15: Tourist numbers are swelling in different tourism destinations across the country on the first day of the New Year 2075. The chief tourism destinations of the east including Bhedetar, Dharan, and surrounding areas are seeing a large crowd of domestic and foreign tourists.

There was also a significant presence of tourists in Namaste Waterfall, lying in Sangurigadhi Village Municipality-6 of Dhankuta.

President of Namaste Waterfall Management Committee, Dilip Subba, said that on the New Year’s day on Saturday, more than 15,000 domestic and foreign tourists visited the waterfall. Tourists come to visit the waterfall in the summer season to enjoy its cool waters.

There are two dozen hotels in operation in the area currently with the increasing flow of tourists to the attraction. Tourists from the center points of Terai like Itahari, Biratnagar, Dharan and Jhapa, including the border cities of India like Jogbani, Sikkim, Darjeeling, and Bihar had visited the waterfall.

As the summer season commences, the waterfall sees large number of tourists daily.
