KATHMANDU, Aug 12: The Gandaki state government is starting the development of infrastructure aiming for attracting 2 million tourists by 2022. A major plan for this includes constructing one helipad at each village, although Annapurna Village Municipality has prohibited helicopter landings from its region.
The municipality prohibited helicopters saying that they are harming the wildlife in the Annapurn
a Conservation Area. The fourth Village Assembly decided to ban helicopters from its area after wildlife responded negatively to helicopters who were in the area for rescues, informed Chief Yuvraj Kunwar.
