KATHMANDU, Apr 16: The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari has reportedly asked the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Sanjiv Gautam, clarification for the state of the various national aviation projects.
Minister Adhikari had reportedly called in a meeting with Director General Gautam last week in which he talked about the unsatisfactory pace of the airport upgradation projects, and other national pride projects. He also complained about the lack of proper coordination of officials during the response to the US-Bangla airplane crash on March 12, asking for clarification on the matter.
Minister Adhikari had called in the meeting after visiting the construction sites of various major airports including Bhairahawa Airport, Pokhara Airport, and Nijgadh Airport, and inspecting their progress. Director General Gautam has appointed Pradip Adhikari as the project chief for Bhairahawa, Pokhara, and Nijgadh airports on account of personal acquaintance. Minister Adhikari told Gautam that there will be no compromise regarding improvement in the tourism sector and has asked Gautam to be ready for action.
