KATHMANDU, Mar 12: The popular Nepali food brand Bajeko Sekuwa is offering in services in New York from April 14. This will be the brand’s first international outlet.
President of Bajeko Sekuwa, Chetan Bhandari, said, “Our franchise outlet is opening in Queens, New York on April 14, 2018.” The New York branch will be the company’s 14th outlet, as it operates in 13 locations inside Nepal.
“This franchise is the first that we are opening in America,” said Bhandari, “we aim to open 6-7 outlets in America over the next 5 years.”
The American outlet will also aim to promote Nepali food varieties, he said. However, it will also offer local products as per the market situation.
Bajeko Sekuwa, established in 1976, has recently been focused on rapid expansion, alongside growing popularity. “The business was started by my father with 500 rupees,” said Bhandari, “we have managed to open our own franchise and branches, and invested 200 million over time. Hundreds have found employment in our business.”
