KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Journalist Doma Sherpa, who is preparing to climb the Mt Everest has received financial assistance from Japan.
The ex-President of Japan Sherpa Association Mr Dawang Sere Sherpa, President Lakpa Gelu Sherpa,Vice President, KB Sherpa and the member of Japan Sherpa Climber Union Mr Karma G Sherpa, NRN Japan Sendai’s Joint Secretary, Tsering Sherpa have financially helped her for the campaign.
They have donated Rs.109,000 to support Duma’s “First Sherpa Women Journalist Sagaramtha Climb 2018” campaign. Women empowerment, motivating Females in journalism and promoting Nepalese tourism in national and international level is the main aim of doma for climbing the Mt Everest.
Sherpa had climbed Iceland peak (6198m) successfully for the Sagarmatha climb campaign on September 23.
