BHAKTAPUR: The festival of Holi is celebrated by smearing and throwing colors and throwing water at observers.

The city of Bhaktapur, however, marks the Fagu festival in a very different way. Eight days before the day of the festival, the Bhimsen Temple at the Dattatraya Square, puts on display a 3 feet long stone image of a phallus, symbolizing sexual activity between the god Bhimsen and Draupadi.
