KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Hotel Association of Nepal has come forward with the plans for promote Nepali cuisines in International market with the aim to promote and preserve the traditional ones.
“The food culture proves to be the strong base for the tourism promotion as well as preserve the culture and tradition of the country. Keeping all these positive aspects in mind and benefit the Nepali tourism industry the internationalization of Nepali cuisines is essential,” a statement from HAN states.
To carry out the plans the HAN has formed a committee for the promotion and planning which comprises tourism entrepreneurs, chefs, food technologists, dietician and other food concerned bodies.
The committee has been directed to prepare manuscripts about Nepali cuisines with 3 months time period. Amongst the collected materials 20 cuisines will be showcased and shared via various mass communication means including books, apps and other means.
The selected 20 cuisines also will be showcased in various programs and functions organized by Nepal Tourism Board, Nepali missions abroad, NRNA, UNESCO and other organizations.
