KATHMANDU, Mar 11: Himalaya Airlines has shown a strong presence in Nepali aviation field in its third year of establishment with increasing share of air passengers. Its share of total passengers has increased this year from 12% to 15%. The domestic airline flies to destinations such as Doha, Dubai, and Malaysia.
Nepal Airlines, which carried the highest number of passengers in 2016, has dropped to second place in 2017. NAC had added two Airbus-320 models in 2015 and went on to carry the highest numbers of passengers the next year.
Himalaya Airlines has carried 179 thousand of the total 380 thousand international passengers in Nepal in 2017. Himalaya Airlines currently operates 3 Airbus A320 and was also the recipient of the “Leading New International Airlines in South Asia” award during the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2017.
