KATHMANDU, Oct. 12: The Public Accounting Committee of the Legislative Parliament has directed the government to intensify the work of construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport so that it will be completed in current financial year.
The meeting held on Thursday concludes that the work of construction of the airport is not satisfactory and it has been directed to Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to finish the work on the targeted time.
The Parliamentary Committee had to give the direction to the government because of the work carried out in snail’s pace, President of the committee Dor Prasad Upadhaya said.
The committee also has alerted the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Supplies and the Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ministries too. Alongside, it also has directed the Ministry of Finance to expedite the task of giving allowance to the people affected at the time of acquiring the land for which the logistic support from the ministry is required.
