Study committee formed to declare Pokhara as tourist capital

POKHARA, Nov 30:A study committee has been formed to declare Pokhara as a tourist capital. Gandaki Province Government to implement the policies and programs presented in the fiscal year 2080-81.  A study committee has been formed, with Krishnachandra Devkota as the coordinator.

The members of the committee are the secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forestry and Environment, vice-chairman of Pokhara Metropolitan City Urban Planning Commission, head of Nepal Tourism Board, chairman of Pokhara Tourism Council, vice-chairman of Pokhara Metropolitan Tourism Development Committee. Similarly, tourism experts Dr. Ramji Sharma and Basudev Tripathi, representatives of the District Administration Office Kaski, the Chief of Tourist Police Kaski, and the President of the Nepal Journalist Association Kaski are members.

The Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forestry, and Environment, Gandaki Province Administration, Planning and Tourism Division Chief, or Tourism Division Chief, has been tasked with working as secretary.

Previously, the province's Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forestry, and Environment developed a brief concept paper on developing Pokhara as a tourist capital. A committee has been formed to conduct a detailed study in accordance with the concept paper.

According to Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey, a study committee has been formed to implement the policy to develop tourism infrastructure and improve service quality in order to develop Pokhara as a tourist capital. He stated that the tourism sector is the provincial government's top priority because tourism is the province's main source of revenue.

The committee's scope and duration have been set to identify, develop, and promote new tourist destinations as well as develop and diversify existing tourist infrastructure in order to develop and declare Pokhara as Nepal's tourist capital and submit a report within 30 days.

To identify the necessary infrastructure to develop as a tourist capital, to identify the topics to be adopted to increase the quality of services to develop as a tourist capital, to identify the necessary criteria for declaring the provincial capital, to identify the process of declaring the provincial capital, to coordinate with the federal government, study The scope of work of the committee has been set to submit the report to the office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers.
