Rainfall in Kathmandu, international flight diverted
KATHMANDU, Feb 22: Different places of the country, including Kathmandu Valley have witnessed light rainfall today.
Meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Shanti Kandel, shared that light rainfall is taking place in Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
Different places in Kathmandu Valley are receiving light rainfall for the past couple of hours. According to the Division, 4.8 millimeter rainfall has been recorded in Archale, Palpa some six hours ago.
Kandel said there is now partly to generally cloudy weather across the country and light rainfall is taking place in some places.
There is possibility of rainfall in the night today. Weather will gradually improve from western part of the country from Friday onward, she added, stating that there is, however, no chance of heavy rain and snowfall.
International flights from Kathmandu have been affected due to bad weather in Kathmandu. An aircraft belonging to Indian Indigo Airlines was diverted to Lucknow, India after it could not land at Tribhuvan International Airport this afternoon following unfavourable weather condition, said TIA Spokesperson Subas Jha.
However, domestic flights are normal, though somewhat delayed, he mentioned.
