Suntharali Airport in Kalikot begins operations

KATHMANDU:A successful test flight took place at Kalikot's Suntharali Airport.

Tara Air's 9N-AKL aircraft from Nepalgunj to Suntharali in Kalikot landed safely at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka lit a lighting a lamp to officially inaugurate the airport.

This airport's runway is 640 meters long and 20 meters wide, and it covers a total area of 308 ropani.

This airport's runway, which stands at 7000 feet, was heavily criticized after it was constructed. The development of the Kalikot airport began in the 2040s.
