12.75% increase in tourist arrivals

KATHMANDU, May 03:The number of foreign tourists visiting Nepal has increased by 12.75 percent. According to figures released by the Nepal Tourism Board, tourist arrivals increased in April 2024 compared to April 2023.

A total of 98,773 foreign tourists came in April 2023, while 111,376 tourists came in the same period of 2024. According to the NTB, 61,589 tourists came to Nepal in April 2022, 22,732 in 2021, 14000 in 2020 and 1,09,399 in 2019.

Month-by-month data indicates 79,100 tourists in January, 97,426 in February, 128,167 in March, and 111,376 in April.

According to the NTB, highest of tourists entering Nepal in April are India. During that time, 30,158 India, 9,947 United States of America (USA), and 9,750 China tourists visited Nepal.

In addition, 5,391 UK, 4,110 Australia, 4,303 Bangladesh, 3,755 France, 3,270 German, 2,977 Russia, and 2,310 Malaysia tourists visited Nepal.
