Agreement to construction a resort in Rara area  positive: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, May 04:On the sidelines of the Third Investment Summit, Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' expressed happiness with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Rara Holding and Expert Group Australia for the construction of a Resort near the Rara Lake in Mugu. He said that the support of the Government of Nepal will continue for the promotion of tourism.

"The agreement for the construction of a resort in Murma top of Rara is important. Tourism is an important sector among the areas with abundant potential for prosperity in Nepal," Prime Minister Dahal said. "For that, the state should emphasize on tourism infrastructure for tourists. I am glad that you, the private sector, have taken the initiative for this. In this way, there will be a significant contribution to internal and external tourism.

The Prime Minister also assured that the state will support infrastructure development for the attraction of tourists in Rara.

He said, "The state will also play a role in infrastructure development for resort construction. The government of Nepal will provide support in areas such as road construction, electricity transmission, and drinking water. This investment will not only help to attract tourists to Nepal. Inland revenue will also increase.

On the occasion, Abhishek Bikram Shah of Rara Holding Pvt Ltd and Sanjeev Sharma of Expert Group Australia said that the work will be completed within the stipulated time as per the agreement reached at the investment Summit. 

During the third investment Summit, an agreement was signed between Rara Holding and Expert Group Australia to build a state-of-the-art resort in Rara at a cost of Rs 1.10 billion.
