Spearheaded by Traveality Nepal, this new venture reflects a commitment to international hospitality standards, enhancing Nepal's appeal as a competitive destination in the global travel market. As a tourism promoter from Wales with a deep investment in Nepal’s tourism potential, I am confident that Best Western Plus will elevate the country's hospitality landscape and create new opportunities for economic and cultural growth.

In 2024, Best Western expanded its footprint by entering Nepal, a country known for its unique appeal to tourists, adventurers, and spiritual seekers. The introduction of Best Western Plus Kathmandu is a major investment in Nepal’s growing tourism sector, demonstrating a commitment to providing world-class accommodations in one of the world’s most desirable travel destinations.

The arrival of Best Western Plus in Kathmandu is largely due to the efforts of Traveality Nepal, a prominent player in Nepal’s hospitality industry. Traveality Nepal, renowned for its expertise in hotel management, consulting, and technology solutions, played a key role in facilitating Best Western’s entry into Nepal. With a deep understanding of both local and international markets, Traveality Nepal established the partnership with Best Western, ensuring the introduction of a globally recognized brand that adheres to international standards of service and comfort.

As Nepal’s tourism infrastructure continues to evolve, Traveality Nepal’s decision to introduce Best Western reflects its dedication to transforming the hospitality landscape. By aligning Best Western Plus Kathmandu with global standards while integrating local cultural elements, Traveality Nepal is setting the stage for increased international investment in Nepal’s tourism sector.

Nepal’s tourism industry has been expanding steadily, attracting adventure travelers, trekkers, and spiritual seekers with its natural beauty and cultural significance. The country’s stunning landscapes, from the majestic Himalayas to verdant valleys and historic temples, draw millions of visitors annually. However, Nepal’s tourism infrastructure has often struggled to keep pace with its potential. The introduction of international brands like Best Western Plus is a crucial step in bridging this gap and enhancing the standard of hospitality in the country.

Tourism is a cornerstone of Nepal’s economy, contributing significantly to employment and foreign exchange earnings. The arrival of international hotel brands like Best Western will create additional jobs and elevate the skills of the local workforce. Furthermore, these global brands will attract high-spending international tourists, further boosting the economy.

The entry of Best Western Plus Kathmandu signifies a pivotal moment for Nepal’s tourism industry. This new hotel will serve as a benchmark for other accommodations, pushing them to improve their standards and better meet the expectations of international travelers.

The launch of Best Western Plus in Kathmandu represents the first major global hospitality brand to establish a presence in Nepal. This new hotel marks a transformative development in Nepal’s tourism sector, offering a level of comfort, luxury, and convenience that has been largely unavailable in the country. Located in Tilganga, near Tribhuvan International Airport, Best Western Plus Kathmandu is ideally situated to cater to both business travelers and tourists.

The hotel features 86 spacious rooms equipped with modern amenities and comfortable accommodations. Guests can enjoy a multi-cuisine café, a rooftop restaurant offering authentic Nepalese cuisine, a fitness center, a rooftop pool, and conference facilities for large events. These amenities are designed to attract a wide range of visitors, from international tourists to local business professionals.

Managed by Traveality Nepal, the hotel will operate under Best Western’s global standards. A formal agreement was signed on August 19, 2024, between Hotel Ryne & Events, chaired by Mr. Rameshwor Aryal, and Traveality Nepal, led by CEO Mr. Aaryan Bastola. The hotel is expected to be fully operational by the end of September 2024, marking a new chapter in Nepal’s hospitality industry.

The introduction of Best Western Plus Kathmandu is poised to have a significant economic impact on Nepal. The hotel will generate numerous job opportunities for the local workforce, ranging from service staff to managerial roles. Additionally, the increased demand for local goods and services will provide a boost to the local economy, benefiting sectors such as transportation, food and beverage, and retail.

Tourism is a vital sector in Nepal’s economy, contributing substantially to the GDP and providing livelihoods for millions. The presence of internationally recognized hotel brands like Best Western will attract more tourists, especially those from higher-income countries seeking premium accommodations. This influx of visitors will generate additional revenue and spur growth in related industries.

By setting a new standard for hospitality in Nepal, Best Western Plus Kathmandu will also inspire other hotels to enhance their services, fostering a competitive environment that benefits both tourists and the local economy.

The opening of Best Western Plus Kathmandu is just the beginning of a broader expansion strategy for Traveality Nepal and Best Western. Over the next two years, Traveality Nepal plans to introduce Best Western franchises in six other major cities across Nepal, including Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini, Thamel, and Biratnagar. These cities are significant tourist destinations and will benefit from the addition of internationally recognized hotel brands.

Pokhara, known for its picturesque lakes and proximity to the Annapurna mountain range, is a popular spot for trekkers and adventure enthusiasts. Chitwan, with its renowned national park, attracts wildlife and nature lovers. Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is a key pilgrimage site for Buddhists. Thamel, a bustling area in Kathmandu, is famous for its markets and nightlife, while Biratnagar is a growing business hub in eastern Nepal.

The expansion into these cities will enhance tourism infrastructure and create new economic opportunities, further establishing Nepal as a premier destination for international travelers and offering world-class accommodations across the country.

Mr. Som Sapkota, the Chief Strategy Officer of Traveality Nepal, expressed optimism about the brand’s successful entry into Nepal. He highlighted that this venture would not only boost the tourism industry but also cater to both economic and luxury travelers. Additionally, Sapkota noted that Best Western had long sought to expand its presence in Nepal, recognizing the country’s growing potential as a global tourism hub.

The arrival of Best Western Plus in Nepal represents more than just the introduction of a new hotel—it symbolizes a tourism renaissance for the country. Nepal has long been a destination for adventurers and spiritual seekers, but it is now entering a new era, aiming to attract a broader range of travelers seeking luxury, comfort, and exceptional service.

As a tourism promoter with strong connections to both Wales and Nepal, I view this as an exciting time for Nepal’s hospitality industry. The presence of global hotel brands like Best Western will enhance the quality of accommodations in Nepal and encourage more international visitors to experience the country’s unique cultural and natural attractions. Whether it’s the tranquility of the Himalayas, the vibrancy of Kathmandu, or the spiritual significance of Lumbini, Nepal offers something for every traveler.

The introduction of Best Western Plus Kathmandu marks a significant milestone in Nepal’s journey toward becoming a world-class travel destination. With its modern amenities, strategic location, and commitment to exceptional service, the hotel is poised to become a key player in Nepal’s hospitality landscape. Traveality Nepal’s management ensures that Best Western’s high standards will be upheld while incorporating local cultural elements to appeal to both international and domestic travelers.

As Best Western continues to expand its presence in Nepal, the future of the country’s tourism industry looks promising. By embracing international hospitality standards and investing in new infrastructure, Nepal is positioning itself as a competitive destination in the global travel market. For travelers seeking a unique blend of adventure, culture, and luxury, Nepal—and Best Western Plus Kathmandu—offer an unparalleled experience.
