Number Of Tourists Increases In Sauraha

CHITWAN, June 14: After the completion of construction work of Narayangadh- Muglin roadways, the number of tourists in Sauraha, Chitwan has been increasing. Though summer season is regarded as the off season the number of tourists has been increasing continuously.  The businessmen have claimed that due to convenient roadways the number of tourists is increasing.

Previously, due to the huge traffic in Narayangadh-Muglin roadways there was obstacle for businessmen to travel but now because of the the smooth road they are able to travel within 1 hour. Now a days mostly Indian and Chinese tourists are seen in Sauraha. According to Chairman of Regional Hotel Association of Sauraha, Suman Ghimire, the ratio of Hotel occupancy has also been increasing. Adding further he said that last year during this season the occupancy ratio was 10-15% whereas now it has increased to 20-25%.

The businessmen are very optimistic that the number of tourists will grow larger from September due to the festive season. With the construction of roadways there is a positive impact on the hotels and tourism business in Sauraha district. Ghimire said,” There is a great role of internal tourist in developing Chitwan district”. He has also assured to provide various facilities that are required to the welcome the guests.  Currently around 110 hotels are being operated in Sauraha district under which 52 hotels are operated under Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN).
