KATHMANDU, Mar 13: Tribhuvan International Airport has given an additional 4 month deadline to Air Asia to pay its dues after its CEO Benjamin Ishmael agreed to pay them in installments over four months.
Ishmael committed to pay the fees in four installments by July 31, in an email to the TIA management. Before this, the airport had given Air Asia the deadline of March 6 to pay dues amounting to 400 million rupees.
“We have agreed to extend the deadline after Air Asia CEO Ishmael committed to pay all the dues in four installments and to also provide 250 million rupees in bank guarantee by July 16,” said the Managing Director of Tribhuvan International Airport, Raj Kumar Chettri, “Air Asia has agreed to pay 40% of the total dues by April 30, 20% by May 31, 20% by June 30, and 20% by July 31.”
