KATHMANDU, Nov 8 : Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Narayan Dev urged the private sector to play an active role in promoting adventure tourism, while saying Nepal is an exemplary destination for the same.
He also lauded the role of adventure athletes to promote religious and cultural tourism. The minister was addressing a function organised to honour a Moroccan national Anas Bekkali, who skydived from a height of 23,000 feet in the Mount Everest.
He pledged to do his part in providing necessary facilities from the government to attract as much as investment in tourism promotion from private sector.
Also on the occasion, honorary consul of the Kingdom of Morocco to Nepal Basanta Kumar Chaudhary praised the role of Bekkali in heightening the prestige of Nepal in adventure tourism.
