Tourists flock to Pokhara in large numbers on New Year 2075

POKHARA, Apr 16: The New Year 2075 has seen large number of tourists crowding the tourist hub of Pokhara. Tourists flock the city from different parts of the country during the New Year to observe the beautiful views of mountains like Annapurna.

Hotel owners report that rooms are pre-booked days before the New Year by customers. Most visitors to Pokhara around the New Year tend to be domestic tourists. The Fewa New Year Festival organized by the Western Hotel Association has also contributed to the huge influx of tourists to Pokhara on the New Year.

The New Year’s day also lies around the onset of the tourism season for foreign arrivals. Additionally, the start of the year is also marked by holiday in the schools and colleges around the country, due to which tourists tend to flock the city.

President of the Western Nepal Association of Travel and Tour Agents (NATTA) Office, Santosh Pokharel, said that various efforts made to improve the tourism infrastructure and increase the lengths of tourists’ stay can also be contributed to the increase in tourist numbers.

President of the Village Tourism Promotion Forum (VITOF) Pokhara, Rabindra Raj Paudel, has said that with the increased flow of tourists to Pokhara, the areas around the city has also seen an increased tourist movement in the homestay facilities.
