MYAGDI, Oct 27 : The unplanned road construction over the Annapurna Conservation area has subsequently reduced the walking trail in the area. The construction of roads has shortened the trekking time of One month to some weeks which also has threatened the trekking business in the area.
“With this act the employment in the area also is threatened. Though the number of tourists visiting the area is increasing the trekking trail has gone shorter,” Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN)’s West President Deepak Adhikari said.
Previously, a total of 2 hundred tourists and trekkers use to go through the trail. The major tourist destinations Ghodepani, Tatopani that leads to Muktinath is connected with road from Beni- Jomsom’s Pokhrebagar-Ghar- Sikhgaun trekking trail which could shut down the hotels in the area.
