“Visit Pokhara” Campaign: Inviting Indian Tourist

KATHMANDU, July 13: Tourism businessmen and media team have visited India to invite Indian tourists today. With the collaboration of Western Hotel Association and Nepal Tourism Board of Gandaki State, A team has gone to invite Indian Tourists to promote Pokhara in India.

The main purpose to invite Indian Tourists now is due to the excessive heat in Patna, Banaras, Lucknow so it’s the right time to convey message to the Indian Tourists to visit Pokhara said Bikal Tulachan, chairman of the Western Hotel Association.


“Pokhara is suitable for all weather, cool and beautiful with mountainous scenes and it is very suitable for the tourists to visit Nepal”, he said. “The program operated since last six years has played great role in the rise of Indian tourists.”


The Indian tourists visiting Pokhara have keen for hiking Himalayas. The head of the Nepal Tourist Board, Surya Thapaliya, said that many Indian tourists have reached the religious sites like Muktinath. Tourist businessmen say Indian tourists have increased in this region along with recent visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Muktinathi.


The ‘Visit Pokhara’ program has a positive impact on tourism of Pokhara, Charter President of Western Hotel Association, Bharat Raj Parajuli said that Pokhara is not only suitable for this summer season but also for all 12 seasons. Altogether 60 percent of the total tourists of Pokhara are Indian, he informed.
