10th Nepal Festival kicks off in Japan

JAPAN, August 26: A two-day 10th Nepal festival has kicked off in Tokyo on Saturday with the slogan of 'Respect to Guests'.

The festival, organized under the joint aegis of Non-Resident Nepal Association Japan Chapter, local organizations and Nepali Embassy in Japan, was inaugurated by Nepali Ambassador to Japan Pratibha Rana and NRNA central vice-chairperson Bhawan Bhatta.

It is shared that the 10th Nepal Festival was organized at Ueno Park in the capital city of Japan, Tokyo, to spur influx of Japanese tourists to Nepal by making publicity of local products of the country.

Most of the people visiting the festival were seen euphoric with Nepali food items, indigenous products and folk songs reflecting Nepali peculiar folk culture.

Main attractions of the festival were model Nepali houses and statues of Hindu gods and goddesses equipped with different ancient weapons, shared organizing committee chair Sudan Thapa.

The festival has 46 stalls.
