11th Israeli Film Festival kicks off

KATHMANDU, June 20: The 11th Israeli Film Festival kicked off in the capital Tuesday. The festival has been organized to promote Nepal-Israel bilateral ties via films.
Speaker Onsari Gharti amid a function inaugurated the festival jointly organized by Embassy of Israel and Nepal Film Society.
Addressing the inaugural session, Speaker Gharti said that such cultural festivals help further expand the existing government-to-government bilateral relations to the people-to-people level.
Israeli ambassador to Nepal Yaron Mayer shared that the film festival is to be organized in Pokhara and Biratnagar as well. It is being organized annually only in the capital since a decade.
Similarly, speaking at the programme, society chair Krishna Malla shared that such festivals are important to promote art and culture.
Films from Israel will be screened on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Nepal Tourism Board Hall in the capital, from June 28 to 30 in Pokhara and from July 6 to 8 in Biratnagar.
