12 people including foreigners stranded in Hilsa and Limi due to heavy snowfall

HUMLA. Oct 21: Twelve people, including foreign tourists who were trekking in Hilsa and Limi in Namkha village municipality of Humla, have been stranded in Tumling of Limi area due to heavy snowfall.
According to Chief District Officer Ganesh Acharya, four Slovenians, three guides and five locals were stopped at Tumling after heavy snowfall on Sunday night. Prajia Acharya informed that coordination is being made with the Ministry of Home Affairs for the provision of helicopters for the rescue of the Slovenian nationals who came for trekking. The rescue operation could not be carried out on Wednesday due to bad weather.
Helicopters have been called for the rescue, a source in the district administration office said. They have not been able to clear the road as the road to Nyalu Lake in Limi of Namkha Municipality-6 has been blocked due to snowfall.
On 8 October, the team went for trekking from Simkot via Hilsa and after trekking, they were scheduled to reach Simkot via Nyalu Lake. There is more than three feet of snow on Nyalu Lake.
