15th Anniversary program of the International Mountain Museum takes place in Pokhara

KATHMANDU, Feb 06: The 15th anniversary of the International Mountain Museum was celebrated in Pokhara. This museum has been operated in  Lekhnath Municipality- 17 of Pokhara since 2060 BS. The anniversary was inaugurated by the Man Bahadur G.C, who is the Chief of Lekhnath municipality,Pokhara.

During his speech he mentioned that there is a great role of this museum in making Pokhara as “Tourist Hub” and the museum management committee, administration and municipalities should be focused on making the museum more organized.

Secretary General of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Kul Bahadur Gurung, pointed out the need for media center in the museum. He said, "The museum is under the International Mountaineering Association, so we need to make it a media centre."

A digital guide line has been connected in the museum on the occasion of anniversary of the Museum of International Mountain in Pokhara. The entire information of the museum is now available through the modern technology digital guide. Each of the observers visiting the museum can find information about it in the content displayed on the Museum's premises.

Around 3400 tourists visits this museum every day, so due to the large number of crowd, mobile apps has been used instead of digital guide. According to the Chairman Santabir Lama, the app works in both IOS and apple mobile and it can show the details about the things in museum in various languages like Nepali, English and Korean.

In the agreement with South Korea and Gandaki College we can bring digital guides within the next year. With the technology connection, the museum will be further aided in development.
