16th season of Himalayan White Water Challenge to be held next month in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Oct 08 : The 16th season of Himlaayan White Water Challenge is set to be held on November, organizer, Association of Rafting agencies- NARA has informed.
NARA have announced the date for the event as 21st, 22nd and 23rd Nov, 2017 with an aim of promoting general tourism along with promoting rivers of Nepal as the World's Best Destination for White Water Rafting and Kayaking as well as “Save the Rivers for Tourism.”
“Himalayan Whitewater Challenge has been running annually since 2002 from its Established as a get together for international expedition kayakers travelling to the mighty rivers of the Himalayas, the Himalayan Challenge now attracts including some of the best kayakers in the world from over twenty countries. It has also become the official selection event for local Nepalese kayakers to represent Nepal at the world championships,” the statement from NARA states.
The three-day event is set to take place in the Trishuli River featuring kayak slalom, kayak freestyle and kayak down river race respectively for three days which will take place in Trishuli River next to the Fishling - Kurnighat and Chitwan district.
The Trishuli River which is about 85 km west of Kathmandu is popular as the best destination for short whitewater river rafting & Kayaking in Nepal.
