30 tons of garbage from Everest brought in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Sep 30: 30 tons of garbage collected from Mount Everest has been brought in Kathmandu. The garbage has been brought in Kathmandu to exclude 100 tons of which cannot be destroyed. That garbage is brought here in Kathmandu through Airlift.

The garbage is being brought in Kathmandu by Tara and Yeti Airlines after the approval of Pasang Village Municipality of Solukhumbu, Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee, Himalaya Club and UNDP. The garbage will be used for recycling. In the program organized for the management of garbage in Sagarmatha area, they had decided to manage the waste management and use them for recycling.

Khumbu Pasang Lamu, Chairman of Municipality said that recycling of waste material is very necessary to conserve the identity of Mount Everest. The companies like Blue Whale Travel and Tours, and Kathmandu Recycling Company has taken the responsibility of recycling those waste garages.
