4th International Yoga Day celebrated with various programs

KATHMANDU, Jun 21: The government has marked the 4th International Yoga Day on June 21 nationwide with several programs being organized with the objective of highlighting the significance of yoga to human health.

The Daya Foundation, in collaboration with The Art of Living Nepal, organized a yoga session for government schools in Basantapur, Kathmandu. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his special visit to the Muktinath temple had urged people to make the 4th International Yoga Day a memorable one.
At a press conference organized jointly by the Ministry of Education and Patanjali Yogpeeth Nepal here today, the organizers shared that the day would be observed with a special event where yoga would be practiced in the presence of the Prime Minister at Bhrikutimandap in the capital city. The slogan for this year’s International Yoga Day is ‘Let’s Practice Yoga and Remain Healthy’.
Likewise, addressing a program organized by Patanjali Yogapeeth at Maharajgunj this morning, acting Prime Minister Iswor Pokharel said the government would put efforts to gradually develop Nepal as a hub for health, spiritual and yoga.
The UN has recognized June 21 as the international Yoga Day since 2014.
