A team including Vice-Chairman of Jugal Village Municipality to ascend Mt. Jugal

KATHMANDU, Oct 15: A team including the Vice-Chairman of Jugal Village Municipality, Srijana Tamang, has left for ascending Mt. Jugal tuesday. A seven-member team led by Everest climber Sharmila Lama has reached the Gumba of Jugal village from the capital Kathmandu to climb the mountain at Jugal-2.

This is the second climb of Galgen Peak in the Jugal range, which is 145 km away from the capital. At an altitude of 6,151 meters, it is one of the best destinations near the capital. Permission has been granted to climb 11 peaks of the range in the northern part of Jugal-3.  According to Tamang, the mountaineering has been started, as theoretical, experimental studies, and short-term training and practice are necessary for mountaineering."

She also mentioned that this climb is expected to encourage more people towards mountaineering and will help to revive the tourism sector. The expedition led by Everest climber Lama has six members including, Pasang Kaji Sherpa, Pemba Tamang, Ang Dorji Sherpa, Ang Tshering Sherpa, and Sarki Sherpa.
