Action to be taken against fake rescues

KATHMANDU, July 22:Positive message regarding the tourism of Nepal is being displayed over the world as Rabindra Adhikari, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has taken action against the frauds of tourism sector. Talking in an interaction program organized by the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), Minister Adhikari has said that the tourism sector of Nepal has a great scope and it should also be flourished among the next generation so we should try to solve each and every existing problem within this sector.

An investigative committee has been formed as various tourism businesses are involved in fraud business, he added. “No matter how hard we try to hide some problems, it will surely affect us one day so we should solve the problems on time,” said Adhikari. The ministry has found that some organizations guilty in the trekking rescuing sector so a committee was formed.

Minister Adhikari further said that the reports of the work committee are to come soon after which action will be taken against the guilty parties involved in fake rescue. Krishna Prasad Devkota , Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has said that some of the rescuers have even distributed poisonous foods to the tourists and they will be punished for sure.

President of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal, Navaraj Dahal said that though the formation of the investigation department is praiseworthy, negative message about the tourism of Nepal has spread. In the program, member of Nepal Tourism Board Deepak Mahat, President of NATTA CN Pandey, and tourism entrepreneurs Pamfa Dhamala, Kul Bahadur Gurung, Tilak Lama, and Yankala Sherpa showed some of the major problems emerging in the tourism sector to Minister Adhikari.
