Adverse Weather Affects Domestic Flights

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: The Adverse weather has affected internal flights from Tribhuvan International Airport to a number of different destinations. Heavy fog has forced flights to Bhadrapur, Simara, Bhairahawa, and Dhangadi to be canceled, informed Parwej Aalam Siddique, Chief of the Domestic Terminal Management Section of TIA.

Passengers affected by the flights faced much trouble after the flights were canceled. Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, Shree Airlines, and others were broadcasting apologies for the cancellation of flights and the inconvenience to their customers. Tribhuvan International Airport daily serves around 5,000 customers traveling domestically.

Domestic flights are being served by 18 airline companies with helicopter services provided by companies like Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, and Nepal Airlines Corporation.

Tribhuvan Airport informed that international flights are being conducted normally, with some flights having to hold a maximum of half an hour on air.

Currently, 30 airline companies are serving the international flights of Nepal. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the afternoon of 18th December has seen the heavy fog clear slightly from the Terai region.

According to meteorologist Shanti Kandel, the fog will stay for a few more days, although there can be a partial change in the afternoons.
