Agreement between Karnali State Government and Global IME Bank to provide interest subsidy to farmers

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Global IME Bank Limited and the Ministry of Land, Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Karnali Pradesh, Surkhet to provide interest subsidy to the farmers involved in commercial agriculture and animal husbandry in Karnali state.

Karnali State Government, Secretary of the Ministry of Land, Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Dr. Rajendra Prasad Mishra and Global IME Bank Limited Karnali Regional Office Chief Bishnu Aryal has signed the MoU.

As per the MoU, Global IME Bank has approved the Ministry's "Interest Subsidy Procedure for Commercial Agriculture and Livestock Breeding Business 2076" and necessary coordination and facilitation will be provided by Nepal Rastra Bank, Karnali Pradesh for the operation of this interest subsidy program. Considering the convenience of its customers, the bank has been benefiting the customers by bringing such programs in coordination with the government.

Global IME Bank aims to provide access to banking services to all sectors and classes across the country and abroad. The Bank has 280 branches in 76 districts, 248 ATMs, 257 branchless banking services, 47 extensions and revenue collection counters and 3 foreign representative offices. The center is providing services to more than 2.3 million customers.

Similarly, the Bank is making significant contribution to the economy of the country by bringing remittances from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, India, Jordan, Hong Kong and other countries.
