Agreement between Nabil Bank and Payment Nepal

KATHMANDU, May 11: Nabil Bank has partnered with Payment Nepal to approve a mobile-based real-time payment system, Unified Payment Interface. UPI is a real-time payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India to facilitate interbank and cross-border transactions.
The partnership will enable millions of Nepalese and Indians who travel across the border each year to pay for health, education and business services to make purchases seamlessly using UPI-based mobile applications in stores and merchant stores in both countries, the bank said.
Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Anil Keshari Shah and Chief Executive Officer of Gateway Payment Services Rajesh Prasad Manandhar have signed the partnership agreement. The partnership will enable Nabil Bank's mobile banking users to make secure and seamless payments at merchant stores across India. Similarly, merchants affiliated and capable with Nabil UPI QR will be able to accept payments from Indian tourists using UPI based mobile apps including PhonePay, Google Pay and Paytm.
