KATHMANDU, July 04: The Indian pilgrims that were stranded on their Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage have finally began to reach Nepalgunj.
About 1600 tourists were stranded at various places including Hilsa, Simikot, and the Tibet side on their way to Kailash Mansarovar after incessant rainfall halted any flights in and out of the region. 3 flights from Goma Air and 4 from Sita Air have already reached Simikot Airport and evacuated a number of tourists to Nepalgunj. Managing Director of Ojha Holidays Tours and Trek, Ramesh Ojha, said that regular flights will be started as soon as the weather becomes favorable.
Ojha himself is currently at Nepalgunj. 85 tourists visiting Mansarovar under himself were also stranded in the rainfall, of which 27 are left to be evacuated.
