Air fare for domestic flights increases after hike in aviation fuel

KATHMANDU, May 23: Airline companies has hiked airfares for domestic flights, with effect from Wenesday, May 25.

Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) announced a new fares for domestic destinations on Monday after the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) recently increased the price of petroleum products, including aviation fuel.

NOC had earlier hiked the price of aviation fuel by Rs 10, making the cost of one liter of aviation fuel Rs 166 against the previous rate of Rs 156.

The AOAN have informed that the fares of all the regions have been increased. Mountain flight from Kathmandu has reached Rs 13,765.

Similarly, the one-way fare from Kathmandu has reached Rs 11,935 for Bhadrapur, Rs 9,325 for Biratnagar, Rs 5,250 for Janakpur, Rs 4,435 for Bharatpur and Rs 6,305 for Pokhara.

Apart from that, the fare from Kathmandu has reached Rs 7,880 for Bhairahawa, Rs 12,895 for Nepalgunj, Rs 15,665 for Dhangadhi, Rs 7,460 for Tumlingtar and Rs 3,725 for Simara.

The company can sell tickets at full fare or discount depending on the pressure of the passengers.
