Annapurna Region declared as Eco Tourism Region

POKHARA, July 17: Annapurna Village municipality committee has declared Annapurna region as “Eco Tourism Region”. Annapurna Trekking route is listed among 10 best trekking routes of the world so the committee has decided to conserve the area by maintaining the biological diversity of the region.
According the the Chief of Village municipality committee, Yubaraj Kunwar, no work has been carried out till date in the Chomeng which falls under Annapurna base camp. He said that rooms has been added to the restaurants and lounges in the public places to make the stay properly managed and safe. DPR of Great Annapurna Trekking Trail has been made in order to promote the area. The priority should be given to the development of the trekking route said Dipakraj Adhikari, President of Western Travel and Trekking Agency.
He said that it is very necessary to promote and conserve treks like Mardi, Machhapuchre Model, Kirku pass, Kafuche Lake. There is sound pollution in Annapurna region due to the helicopters and it should be reduced as soon as possible. The sound pollution hampers the lifestyle of the animals living in the surroundings said Hari Bhujel, Vice President of Western Association of Travels and Trekk. The statue of the first climber of the base camp Morris Hajorg will be made to promote the place.
Every year huge amount of tourists arrive here to trek and iuts ratio is increasing every year. This place carries a great tourism attraction as it is situated in high altitude of 8,012 m. The tourists can also observe the herbs such as Pachaule, Satuwa, and other animals and birds loke danfe, munal and ghoral.
