KATHMANDU, July 27: “Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Centre”, “Nepal Cancer Support Group” and “Upacharkaa Lagi Sahayogi Haathharu Nepal” had jointly conducted an event “Head and Neck Cancer Survivor’s & Press Meet 2021” on World Head and Neck Cancer Day at hospital premises to bring awareness about head and neck cancers.
The event’s main goal is to educate patients about these cancers, provide treatment options and connect current patients with former patients who have received treatment and been cured at our hospital. It was a special forum introducing patients who have won the battle against head and neck cancer, share stories of hope and survival, and support one another. Newly diagnosed cancer patients often prefer the counsel and support of patients who have successfully undergone treatment.
Oncology doctors of NCHRC spoked on recent advances in research, treatment procedures and equipment for cancer treatment. Many cancers are curable when detected in the early stages. This event allowed oncologists to share the knowledge, facts and treatment procedure of Head and Neck Cancer.
Head and neck cancers are more common in places like Nepal where tobacco and alcohol consumption are high. Since there are limited government regulations and age restrictions about their consumption, the prevalence of head and neck cancer is higher and the average age of a Nepali patient is younger compared to global trends.
NCHRC provides world-class, comprehensive cancer care, right here in Nepal. With state-of-the-art technology, expert physicians, and patient-centered care, NCHRC give you the best chance to fight cancer, and live a fulfilling life. At NCHRC, one can find expertise needed to diagnose and treat a wide range of cancers in all phases.
