Asian Rural Tourism Festival 2017 to be organized in Jhapa

JHAPA, March 2: The Asian Rural Tourism Festival (ARTF) 2017 is going to be organised from  3th March to 9th March  (20 th Falgun to 26 falgun ) at Bahundangi in Jhapa .

This has been an annual event since 2012, with the view to mitigate and create better awareness among the villagers along the Mechi River in Eastern Nepal and North Bengal towards the wild elephants.

The organisers said the festival is aimed at launching different awareness programmes, promote tourist destination (Arjundhara, Kicakabadha, Domukha, Kechana kawal, Sataasidham, Jamunkhadi, Pataalganga and Ilam, Dharan, Dhankuta, etc. ) local cultures and tradition.

There will be stalls on Conservation of Orange Orchards, Bee-Keeping and Tea Branding, which will help the visiting villagers to learn as value added practices and living museums and local food products.

The event will also witness cultural performances from the Rai, Tamang, Gurung, Dhimaal, Limboo and Newar communities.

Adjoining areas of Bhutan and Bangladesh have also joined the initiative, giving a complete focus on the Rural Tourism connectivity and networking.

Different tour operators and travel agents  are expected to take part in the festival.
