Attention drawn on misbehave against photo journalists

KATHMANDU, June 10: The National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ) has expressed its serious concern over the incident of misbehave meted out against photo journalists on duty.

The photo journalists were mistreated while collecting news about diversion of Hanumante Rivulet flowing through Madhyapur Thimi municipality-3 and Suryabinayak municipality-3, stated a press release issued by Association Secretary, Pradeep Raj Onta.

A group of unruly people abused and threatened photo journalists who reached there this morning to cover news and photo of Hanumante rivulet, the Association noted.

It is stated that the unruly group also arbitrarily deleted the photographs and video footages taken by a group of journalists including RSS photo journalist Ratna Krishna Shrestha, Ramesh Giri, FNJ Bhaktapur Chapter member Leela Shrestha and Sudip Kumar Poudel.

The Association also drew its attention to the ill-treatment to journalist Kabin Adhikari of and Barsha Shah of while taking snapshots of the rivulet.
