KATHMANDU, Sep 23: For the first time, Gupteswor Mahadev Cave, a famous religious tourist destination at Davis Falls, Pokhara Metropolitan City-17, has been opened for tourists using barcode tickets.
A barcode scanner gate at a cost of Rs 1.5 million has been installed in the cave, which has been reopened since Friday, as per the government's decision to reopen the closed religious tourist destination with health standards from September 17.
Krishna Ranabhat, a member of the publicity sub-committee, said that it would be easy to get the details of the number of tourists visiting the cave daily as the gate would be opened only after scanning the barcode on the ticket.
Chief of the office Narayan Poudel informed that the barcode scanner gate, which was planned to be brought in early 2078 BS, has been brought into operation only now as the required materials did not arrive due to lockdown.
