Bhaktapur Municipality collects 242 million in tourism revenue

KATHMANDU Aug 07: Bhaktapur Municipality has collected Rs. 242,441,000 in tourism revenues in the economic year of 2074/75. A total of 227,614 tourists entered Bhaktapur city in the last economic year which included 99,980 tourists from the South Asian region. The municipality charges Rs. 500 from tourists from the South Asian region to enter the inner city.

This is the highest earning for the municipality since the earthquake of 2015. The tourist entry fees are the single biggest income source for Bhaktapur Municipality. It started charging tourist entry fees from July, 1993.
