Body of Austrian mountain climber retrieved by Nima Adventure

KATHMANDU, Mar 22: Nima Adventure Trek and Expedition has successfully retrieved the body of Austrian climber Markus Schett from the Lobuche East Peak. 43-year-old Schett had been climbing the Lobuche mountain with Ramdung Trek and Expedition, when he went missing last December.

The body was airlifted on March 21th  by Managing Director of Nima Adventure, Kanchha Sherpa , along with other  Four Sherpas , Kipa Sherpa, Gyalzen Sherpa, Pema Sherpa and Phur Gyalzen Sherpa, who was in the team, has thanked the TAAN executive committee for commending the work and giving workers motivation.

Managing Director Kanchha Sherpa has urged the government to be active in the mountaineering sector, and be more concerned with keeping track of mountaineers who lose their lives during expeditions. Despite charging royalties to mountaineers, there is lack of budget implementation in the mountaineering sector and no resources to retrieve bodies of mountaineers who lose their lives in the mountains.
