Buddha Air adds new aircraft to fleet

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Private Airline company Buddha Airlines has purchased a new aircraft. With this, Buddha Airlines now possesses 10 planes in its fleet. Buddha Airlines is the largest domestic air service provider of Nepal. It has brought 72-500 ATR series plane with 72 seats to Kathmandu.
Buddha has brought a used airplane for 1 billion rupees. In the near future, Buddha is preparing to fly Kolkata-Kolkata directly.
The airline is planning to start a commercial flight after completing the paperwork process. Buddha Air is planning to start the service within January. The new aircraft will start flying after completing the paperwork.
Buddha Airlines has got 5 planes of 72-500 ATR series having 72 seats, 3 planes of 42-320 ATR series having 47 seats and 2 planes of Beechcraft-1900D series having 18 seats. Altogether, Buddha Air has got 9 planes and another 72-500 ATR is in the process of taking flight.
Buddha Air is currently conducting more than 45 flights from Biratnagar, Kathmandu and Pokhara daily. It has plans to expand international flight service by purchasing more aircraft, and has also announced a route to Calcutta of India.
