Buddha Air to receive new ATR 72-500 on 25th January

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Buddha Air is set to take delivery of its new ATR 72-500 aircraft on January 25, 2018. The airplane has departed from New Caledonia and is scheduled to land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

The ATR 72-500 is currently at Malaysia and is scheduled to reach Bangkok today. The aircraft will depart for Kathmandu (TIA) on Tuesday and it is scheduled to arrive after 6 PM local time.

Officials from Buddha Air departed to take the delivery of an additional ATR-72 aircraft on January 9. Teams including 2 flight crews, 1 operational staff, 2 B1/B2 Licensed Engineers, 1 Quality Assurance Staff, 1 Airworthiness Staff and one official from Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) form the team that is bringing the aircraft.

The added aircraft will come into operation 3 months after its arrival and will be used to enhance its operational capacity and will be operating in currently scheduled places.
