KATHMANDU, Sep 27: Due to the disturb in the flight security caused by the kites flying in the sky near airport premises, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has requested people not to fly kites near the airport premises.

Issuing a notice regarding kites flying on Thursday morning, the CAAN warned that the person going beyond the rules will be severely punished. Joint secretary at the CAAN Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane said that “Departures and take offs are highly affected due to flying kites, hence we are bound to issue a notice.”

The pilots have, time and again, faced difficulties to take off and land. However, no accidents have been recorded to date, Lamichhane further added.
