KATHMANDU, Apr 30: Tourists have been found to be collecting money by performing various activities such as dancing, singing, showing magic tricks and playing musical instruments. These beggars are mostly from Nepal and India but recently some beggars from China have been spotted near Basantapur, Ratnapark, Balaju and Jawalakhel.
In some places, they are spotted in a group whereas in some places they are single. China has shown its great concern towards its citizens who visit Nepal through visa and are involved in illegal activities. China has ordered the Chinese embassy to take charge of those beggars immediately. According to tourist guide Dhurba Poudel, these beggars come from the border area and they are often found in Pokhara valley. Nepal has provided Chinese citizens tourist visa for a maximum one month with yearly visa maximum 150 days in the year. There has been improvement in the number of Chinese arrivals in Nepal due to free visa process after KP Oli’s visit to China.
