The National Park reached Babai and Karnali Rivers in search for male crocodiles due to a lack of male gharial crocodiles in the rivers around the park. According to Chief Conservation Officer Ram Chandra Kandel, a male gharial crocodile was captured from under the Babai River Bridge of the East-West Highway in Bardiya National Park, on the afternoon of 22nd December.
