CNP transfers 98 rhinos to Bardiya, Shuklaphanta

CHITWAN: As many as 98 one-horned rhinos were transferred to Bardiya and Shuklaphanta National Parks so far.

The rhino transfer program was begun in 1986 and 89 rhinos have been translocated to Bardiya National Park and nine to in Shuklaphanta National Park from Chitwan National Park (CNP) so far.

The CNP information officer, Nurendra Aryal shared that 14 rhinos are in Shuklaphanta and 35 in Bardiya these days.

According to Aryal, CNP on Monday itself has captured a female rhino to send it to Shuklaphanta.
