Commemorating deceased ones in Nepal (Photo Feature)

KATHMANDU: The annual festival of “Gaijatra” or “Cow Festival” is a traditional form of commemorating the deceased ones with the march of cows, both the real and humans transformed into cows. “Cow” regarded as the sacred animal and the National Animal of Nepal and the tail of cow is regarded as the only means which will take soul of the deceased person to the other side of the Baitarni, a legendary river to get into heaven.
