Dadeldhura: A beautiful hilly district of Nepal

Dadeldhura is one of the beautiful hilly districts of Nepal, which is located in province Number 7, Mahakali Zone of Nepal. The total population of Dadeldhura district is 142, 094, according to the census of 2011 B.S.  The total number of Male populations of Dadeldhura district is 66556, and the number of female populations is 75538.  This District has a mountainous landscape that contains many religious temples. Dadeldhura is situated at a height of 157 meters to 2439 meters from sea level.

The distance from Kathmandu to Dadeldhura district is 798 km. The route that falls on the way is Kathmandu, Dhading, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Butwal, Kapilvastu, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kailai, and Doti.  While leaving Dadeldhura from Kathmandu, first of all, we have to reach New bus park (Gongabu), for booking a ticket. The name of the bus which is used for travel Dadeldhura is UgrataraYatayat, which is also known as Ghatal A/C (Air Suspension). The price of the ticket per person is Rs 2000. It takes 24 hours to 28 hours to reach Dadeldhura from Kathmandu. There is no availability of direct flights.

On the other hand, Dashain and Tihar are the main festivals of the people of the Dadeldhura district. Also, Gaura Parva is one of the important (Local (Festival) of people of the Dadeldhura district. In this festival, people worship the main god of Gaura i.e. Gaura Debi. People sing the Deuda song in Gaura Parva, and eat a type of food, which is made by mixing of seed called Birauta. People from different places come to observe it, and Deuda's competition between women and men is also held at this festival. Deuda song represents happiness, sorrow, and different problems, which they face in their life.

Ugratara mela is also one of the famous festivals of the Dadeldhura district, which is celebrated in the month of Kartik. This temple is situated is known as the Palace of UGRATARA Mata from the ancient time. The environment of this place is peaceful and nice. The women observe fasting in this day, they take their meal only after worshiping the Ugratara. People from India and neighboring districts like Bajhang, Bajura, Doti, Achham, Baitadi, Darchula come to observe it. At this time, the hotels and lodges remain pack at this festival time.

Some of the major attractions of the Dadeldhura District are, AmargadhiFort, Ugratara Mata Temple, AjaymeruKot, Baba Ghatal Temple, Aalital, Jogbuddha Bazar, and Bhageshwor. Amargadhi Fort is one of the famous and important visiting sites of Dadeldhura, which is located in the headquarter of the dadeldhura district. This fort is made by Amar Singh Thapa, so it is known as Amargadhikilla also. This can be taken as one of the most important places for new people who have been to dadeldhura. We can see different types of weapons that are used by Amar Singh Thapa to fight for English. We have to take a ticket of Rs 100 to enter in this fort.

Likewise,  Ajaymeru Kot is one of the important places which is situated in the Dadeldhura district. We can reach this place by the help of transportation. This place is located in the Ajaymeru Rural municipality, and it takes nearly 5hours by walking to reach in this place from the headquarter of Dadeldhura. We can see different types of the old designed temple in this place. Due to a lack of marketing about this place, most of the people were unknown about it. A transportation facility is available for this place. We can reach this place by local transport as well as by our vehicle also.

We can find different types of hotels like A/C room hotels, Non-A/C room hotels, rooms with attach bathrooms and rooms with non-attach bathrooms, a Combine room, a Single room, Deluxe room, Hotels with hot water, hotels with non-hot water in Dadeldhura.
